Cat training is important not just for you but also to your pet. Training enables your cat to lead its life as per set arrangements which is convenient to them as well. But you need to know what and how to cajole your cat so as to ensure that your Cats are on Top of their behaviour as well as health.

Cat training that can help

Teaching a cat its name: Having your cat respond to its name is one of the first training you should impart. It will be better if you have a simple name for your cat, something that may have just one or two syllables. You may love captain Marvel but your cat may not, so just call it either captain or just Marvel. The younger you can start, the better as it will easily be accustomed to it. Whenever you cat responds, why don’t you reward it with your favour food so that they will start responding to their name faster? Another way is to feed them a little less than usual and when they are hungry, offer them a treat by calling out their name. Repeat it and then take a break. Involve others as well and you will soon find that your cat is loving its name!

Teach them tricks: Who doesn’t love to show off their pet’s tricks to guests? Your cats will love it as well. To train your pets in tricks, you need to give them constant practice but at the same time, do not tire them. Set aside a schedule for training and pick one trick at a time. You will have to be patient as cats may need an extra time to learn. Reward them with their favorite food item from time to time.

Prevent door scratching: This is a training that is necessary or else, all your doors will have scratching marks and soon will tear away. Scratching for a cat is normal and it means, Cats are on Top of their normal behavior but all the same, you need to protect your doors as well. First thing, trim the claws of your cat. Second, get them a post to scratch. You can even buy them online. Third, spray your door with some strong smelling spray. You can even have your doors covered with tapes or any other things which will deter your cat from scratching it.

Train to use the litter box: If your cat litters on the box for the purpose, half your work is done as cleaning a litter box is easier. But if your cat is adamant to use the carpet instead of the litter box, then it is a problem for sure. Find the reason for your cat’s behavior and address them. Ensure that the litter box is clean and that it is kept in a place where it is easy to access. Your pet’s health issues may one of the reasons, in which case, you need to take it to the vet as early as possible.

Cats need as much training as any other pet. Take your time, be patient and ensure that the training process is smooth, stress-free and enjoyable for both you and your pet.
